Buffalo N.Y., May 12, 2022—Making a difference can start with one single individual but working together can lead to an even more successful and meaningful change. Since the beginning in 2017, Lakelet Capital has been involved in several donation opportunities to support cancer research, education resources, adoption programs, and has volunteered to clean up in the community. This year, Lakelet Capital introduced a new way to give back, while having some team fun by participating in Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon on May 12, 2022, and raised more than $5,000.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization that provides education for students in grades K-12. The focus on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy is practiced through experimental and hands-on programs. The Junior Achievement programs teach children how they can impact the surrounding community as individuals, workers, and consumers.

Lakelet Capital and six of the portfolio companies – Matrix Imaging, GenTech Scientific, Apis Wise, Pro Transportation, RPM Payroll, and Revlet Sales, joined together to raise as much money as possible to support Junior Achievement of WNY. Fundraising efforts included planning a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, and office bingo which was organized by RPM Payroll to bring a fun and exciting way to receive more donations.

The Bowl-A-Thon event was a significant milestone for Lakelet Capital as it displayed just how significant it is to work together to give back and show commitment to the local community. All donations went towards the education programs for young children from kindergarten through twelfth grade because it all starts at a mindset of a young adult.

About Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver our lessons but share their experience. In the process, these volunteers serve as role models helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education, as well as critical life skills. Preparation involves our proven lessons that promote financial capability, work and career readiness, and business ownership. For more information, please visit westernnewyork.ja.org.
